E-book replace the extra load form the life of bookish people. I am also an e-book reader and switch over for paper made book reading to e-book reading few years back continuing this comfortable cutting edge technology for a long time. The most attractive part of e-books is they are enormously portable and you can send a large book in the form of e-book to you friends just like an email attachment. A book writer transfers his view and thought in a book in the printed text format and he or she sale it to the market and earns money. In case of e-book a writer can also publish his e-book in some e-book publishing site. He can offer reviews copy to other writer in some e-book forums. So every thing just like traditional and the process is depending on digital format.

In a book there some other contributors like cover designer and graphics designer who make it more attractive for the readers. To present an e-book in a standard form a computer graphics designer uses some good colorful cover design to attract more e-book reader. The sound effect in an e-book mane it a live conversation with the writer and an e-book reader enjoy book reading by listening the sound effects. An e-book seller sale it under some password protection environment and concerned e-book reader buy these e-book by paying electronics money. Then buyer gets a link URL in a secured mail and he or she can download these electronics file in his or her computer without difficulties. E-book reader software is required for reading this special file format (generally in .pdf format). These are just like your traditional book but the main advantage of e-book is faster in case of distribution and to sale these e-books you don’t need retail book stores. You can open an online 24 hr open e-book store on the Internet.

Portable ebook readers are now officially a part of the 21 Century. I never thought I would see a quality electronic book you could actually read without killing the eyes. What does have to show for itself?| How about instant digital access to more ebooks than you could read in a life time, dozens of periodicals delivered instantly if not sooner, audio books for when you are driving or too tired to read, and documents you may need access to. Ask not what you can do for your Kindle eReader. Ask what your Kindle eReader can do for you. For starters, it all happens on the Home page where Kindle, being kind, parks all the categories you use. This is how it all begins. The home page is accessed with the Home Button. (And you thought this was going to be hard.) It will show all the categories accessible to you on this page. The Home page acts pretty much the same as the Desktop on computers. The Home page starts off showing your most recently accessed items, just like Windows recently accessed documents. It makes it easy to know where you left off on any reading and any new updates that have arrived. Kindle’s electronic book lists the ebooks by title and author, the size of the book and how much has been read, if any. Anyone with an interest in a blog will like the blogging feature. Blog subscriptions show on the home page with new updates showing last and oldest first, which is last if you start from the top. Audio books are a favorite that are treated just like the ebooks, except they are labeled as audio books. Subscriptions to periodicals are delivered regularly. Except these subscriptions arrive on time and the dog has not mangled the sports page. They to are listed on the Home page as Periodicals and they also show the latest updates first. The Kindle e book reader will help you manage Kindles space. It does throw out old stuff and it may do so before you get a chance to read it. Before trashing anything in the subscription pile, Kindle will warn you of the impending deletion 48 hours in advance. So you have plenty of warning.

As an increasing number of people begin to think about environmental friendly methods that will assist in saving our forests, the eBook Reader is one that most will fail to consider. However, as the number of books printed rises exponentially, the number of trees being harvested also rises which is a concern.

Most likely this trend will continue as people become more accustomed to the information age and the quick availability of the printed word on almost any topic they might be able to imagine. It is only when we all dedicate ourselves to creating the paperless office that the continual destruction of our forests might diminish.

Although some might point towards the advent of ebooks and PDF files as offering a potential solution to the proliferation of paper books, it is a fact that many people tend to print these out in a format that uses more paper had they been professionally printed originally.

There is, however, a solution to this available in the form of the eBook reader. Such readers present eBooks in an easy to read format that is equally as portable as a physical book – in fact more so, since it is lighter and more easily carried, and as cutting edge technology continues to develop, the opportunity for becoming more environmentally conscious continues to present itself.

The amount of paper used for printing documents, books, magazines, and other such materials has not decreased with the proliferation of personal computers and laptops, but instead, seems to have increased. It appears that as people have unlimited access to information, the number of documents being printed continues to be on the rise. The necessity to transport printed materials from one location to another or to simply isolate specific documents is also increasing exponentially.

The introduction of eReaders can be instrumental in the saving of our forests if we as a people decide to utilize them in a fashion that can truly have the desired impact we seek. Listed below are some possibilities for using the eReader to assist in saving our forests:

Not only do the eBook Readers serve the purpose of effectively eliminating the destruction of so many trees, but they also provide ease of use and simple transport capabilities. They are light, compact, easy to use, and some of them will even read to us.

Overall, these Readers have so many possibilities that it is almost impossible to predict what the future may hold for the expansion of their usage. As we begin to grow more comfortable with using them, and as current purchasers provide feedback to manufacturers, their capabilities will only continue to expand and progress.

Web editor of the Bookseller, Philip Jones, is on record has having commented that publishers are currently converting their backlists to digital format in anticipation of the book world’s equivalent of the iPod.

So far, testimonials have overall been quite positive and reinforcing the need for such cutting edge technology. Certainly there are those of us who still like to touch and feel the pages of a real book but we certainly don’t mind not having to carry all those books with us on our 5 hour flight. And wouldn’t we much rather grab our Reader to take home to review the documents for tomorrow’s meeting rather than a heavy laptop or a briefcase stuffed full of papers? In addition, the college student shouldn’t have a problem with reducing the load of that 25 to 30 pound backpack to a small 10 ounces.

In short, the advantages by far outweigh the disadvantages. It is probably safe to say that the eBook Reader is here to stay and will only get better and better as time progresses and more people are introduced to its virtues. And remember, if you can help save our forests, wouldn’t it be worth it?

It seems as if everyone these days is trying to simplify their lives and even Oprah is no exception. With our busy lifestyles that include traveling from here to there, the eBook Reader is something that any one with a busy lifestyle might want to consider. Even Oprah raves about her Kindle and claims that it has saved her the agony of traveling with those heavy books.

If you have been considering the purchase of an eReader then there are a few things you absolutely need to consider before making your final decision. An eBook, of course, is nothing more than a digital file which is the same as the normal printed book except it’s just electronic. Until the roll-out of this technology, eBooks were read through your PC or laptop.

So how does an eBook Reader differ from a PC or a Laptop? With a specialized technology called e-Ink or e-Paper, the eReader is will display text and images that feels almost like it’s on real paper. This helps you prevent eye strain like you usually will experience when reading from a computer screen for extended periods of time. Also, it’s energy efficient and requires very little charging. The only time you are truly straining your battery at any level is when you actually turn a page. And the best part of all, you can read in bright sunlight without any problems.

So let’s look at 9 important factors to take into account when making your purchase:

1. What books are available?

You want to make certain that you have access to all the books that you might want to access through your reader. Consequently, keep in mind, that the Sony store has somewhere around 100,000 books, whereas the Amazon Kindle store has over 280,000 books. Oprah endorsed the Kindle and the choice of books seemed to be one of her most talked about features. It doesn’t do you much good to find a really great eBook reader if there are no books to read!

2. Pay Close Attention to the Display.

Since you are going to be spending a lot of hours reading books it is important that the display is comfortable to the eyes. So what do we need to consider. First of all take a look at the size of the screen. Standard size is 6” but most people prefer a little larger than this and the Fujitsu Flepia offers 8” and the new Kindle DX a whopping 9.7”.

Also keep in mind if you are going to view a lot of graphics you might want to also consider the gray scale. The standard is about 8 gray scales. The Flepia, however, offers a touch screen with the capability for 260,000 colors. At $1000 you pay for it! The BeBook by Dutch company Endless Ideas offer multiple fonts that can be changed as you read (except in PDF format), and three levels of zoom.

3. Long Battery Life is a Big Deal.

It’s not much fun to have to recharge your device every couple of house. You should be able to experience around 7000 page turns before recharging. The Flepia by Fujitsu offer 40 hours of continuous use on one charge and Sony’s PRS-505 gives you an average 6,800 page turns, and the Kindle DX four days on wireless.

4. Size Matters.

Size is extremely important if you travel a lot. It’s imperative that the Ebook Reader be portable. You have to find a happy medium between the reader taking up too much room and it being large enough to read easily. The average weight is about 10 ounces, but the BeBook weighs in at only 7.8 ounces (220 grams).

5. Make Sure the Reader Supports Various Types of File Formats.

Some only support very specific file formats. Case in point is the Amazon Kindle 2 which doesn’t support PDF Files. It does however offer an option that lets you convert PDF files into a Kindle format. The Sony PRS-700 does support PDF files, Doc files and others. The iRex iLiad supports PDF, XHTML, Mobipocket and plain text, and can also display BMP, PNG and JPEG images, though not in color. It also has stereo speakers giving it audio book capability. The Kindle 2 also offers text to speech capability. The Kindle 2 does not support PDF, but the Kindle DX can read native PDF files.

6. Can You Go Wireless?

Again, this is strictly a personal choice but one that more and more consumers are demanding. It’s definitely worth considering, and the iLiad and Kindle 2 have wireless connectivity, as does the Flepia with wireless Bluetooth and wifi.

7. What Type of Warranty Is Offered?

As with any new technology introduced into the marketplace, bugs and glitches are often prevalent at first. Therefore, it would be worthwhile to have at least a one year warranty just in case. You can, of course, also always purchase the extended warranty where offered.

8. Have You Reviewed the Testimonials?

It’s always important to see what other users think about a piece of equipment. Since many of these eBook Readers are bought online it is relatively simple to find testimonials regarding the various types.

9. How Often Do You Want To Use Your Reader?

Do you want this to replace actual books or do you just want to use the Reader when traveling? This is definitely a consideration and might affect many of the buying decisions discussed above.

In short, the eBook Reader can offer you many options that regular books do not. And although you might want to consider an endorsement from Oprah, she might not always know the best choice for your individual circumstances. So shop around, do your homework and choose the right reader for your specific needs.

Do you want to help reduce your carbon footprint and help green our world? Then you have to get a Digital eBook Reader.

With the ability to store thousands of books on one miniature machine, you don’t need to buy magazines, books, or newspapers made from paper anymore.

Not only is this handy for a prolific reader who loves having an assortment of reading material readily available, but it’s the “green” way to go, because everyone who uses a digital eBook reader positively impacts their carbon footprint and our environment.

However, what many people do not know is that eBook readers do more than just permit you to read books. Some electronic readers have special added features that allow you to do so much more. Here are 3 additional features you might not know about:1. Many individuals choose to get their daily paper through their eBook reader. Another terrific way to save time and diminish your carbon footprint. Now you can rest assured that your paper will be delivered to you each and every day. Never again do you need to be concerned about it getting wet, lost, or undelivered. 2. Some e-readers like the Kindle 2 and Nook also have an mp3 option. Some individuals enjoy listening to music as they read, and with this feature, you don’t need to use a separate mp3 player. Furthermore, you can plug your headphones into most eBook readers, so as not to disturb anyone.3. Your electronic reader can actually read your book aloud to you–fantastic idea. Because of its new “Read-to-Me” ability, the Kindle 2 can now read every book, blog, paper, or magazine to you out loud, unless the book’s rights holder made the feature unavailable. Image cooking or driving and having your latest book actually read to you. What a terrific way to spend your time commuting! These are just a few of the many features found on most new electronic readers.

But with so many to choose from, it can be difficult to select the one that’s just right for you.

What I have learned is that the simplest thing to do is to read product reviews from both laypeople and professionals. This will give you both technical and actual user information. Then I look at the specs of the various electronic readers.

Armed with this information, you can now make the best informed decision possible. In today’s economy, you want to get the most for your money, so do your homework and see which reader will give you the benefits you’re looking for.For more information, detailed reviews, and a comprehensive comparison chart of the top 3 e-readers available today, please visit DigitaleBookReader.org.

Nowadays, almost everything in this world relies on digital technology, even reading. If you are still into buying books and you would like them to travel with you, carrying them around would not be that easy. But, if you have your own electronic book reader, bring books anytime, anywhere would be possible. You can even bring thousands of books with you if you want to. This time around, you can enjoy reading books wherever you are and whenever you want to. However, the challenge here is to find the right ebook reader that would meet your needs. You definitely would like to find the right one because you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on one that doesn’t meet your needs. If you’re looking for the cheapest price for an ebook reader, you won’t find one that only costs a hundred bucks or so. You would need to spend a little over $200. With this amount, you’ll be able to purchase a typical ereader which has the basic features. However, this price may not be enough to get one that has a longer battery life and you probably might have to get a more advanced model. For better options, you may have to spend about $500. One of the advanced models that you may come across is the Kindle DX, which has some of the best features in an e-reader. The more you pay for the device the better features you get. Another high-end alternative that has a lot of add-ons packed in is the Flepia which may costs more than $1000.If your device doesn’t come with all the features you need, you’re just wasting your money. Make sure the battery will last for as long as you need it to. Also be sure to try the device out before you buy it. Each one uses a different kind of screen and you want to make sure it doesn’t wear out your eyes. While the most expensive ereaders come with the most features, that doesn’t necessarily make them the best ebook readers.More often, what is left unnoticed when it comes to its features is the reader’s file compatibility. For example, not all readers are capable of reading PDF files, which is one of the most popular file format nowadays. This would then limit the libraries that you may get your ebooks from. If you opt to use Sony readers, they would have a library which has about a hundred thousand books, while Amazon’s Kindle would allow you to gain access to over 250,000 books. It doesn’t have to be a difficult process to choose an ereader, you just have to know what to look for. Getting the most expensive model may not be the wisest choice for you. While the Flepia may come with a really nice touch screen, can you really justify spending $1,000 on it? That is a question that only you can answer. No one can make the decision about which one is correct for you except for you. Don’t just look for the one with the most features, the best ebook reader is the one that suits your needs without breaking your budget.

The eBook reader device market is an extrememly vying one and many eBook Reading devices that were popular in the early 2000s have now expired. Many of these earlier ebook reader devices belong to some of the eminent brands of today. As an eBook admirer myself, I feel that it is not very proficient to use so many electronic accessories ( one for communicating, one for computing, one for reading ebook, and so on. ) The aim is towards the alliance of the different actions into a single instrument, and hence, the accessories that prevail for eBooks are primarily in the PDA division now.

I suppose that for the fee of convenience and weight, one would have to cope with the small screen of the Ebook reader device in lieu of the normal paperback size screen of single-hearted computer device. Personal Digital Assistants (PDA’s) that duplicate as eBook Reader devices are prominent. Nearly all PDAs utilizing the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 to 2003 come with the Microsoft eBook Reader. Many of these tools can also read eBooks in the MobiPocket Reader format. Another one the most popular ebook reader devices is the Amazon Kindle. This device has numerous features with place it at the top of the market.

It’s ideal if you travel a lot. I’m the kind of guy who gathers up books for even concise trips. With the Kindle you have a full library of books accessible at any time. You can put anything you want on it. You can easily email DOC, TXT, and PDF files to your personal Kindle email address for conversion to the Kindle for a small fee of 10 cents. It looks great. The Kindle 2 is an amazing improvement over the other ebook reader devices I’ve encountered.

Jeff Bezos changed the way people choose and buy books when he started Amazon. For many authors, Amazon has been a lifeline, breathing new life into books that had long since stopped being stocked by most bookshops. Amazon’s clever reader reviews, recommendations and “people who bought this also bought” feature have pulled dusty, forgotten books from the back of the store and stuck them in the front window again.

Now Bezos and the Amazon team are taking their revolution one step further. On November 16, 2007, they finally launched their much-anticipated electronic-book reader, the Kindle.

This new device is intended to make reading a book as easy and pleasurable on a portable screen as it is on paper. The big advantages the device has are that it can store more than 200 books, it can easily be updated with new books and it is light and portable. Most books, including new best sellers, cost $9.99. Some classics can be downloaded for as little as $1.99. Subscriptions to newspapers, magazines and blogs can cost 99 cents each or up to $14 a month.

Will the Kindle Succeed?

Content is going digital, of that we can be sure. Books, newspapers, radio, TV, magazines, courses and videos are all migrating to the Web. Many content producers are fighting the move, because making money online is seen as being far more problematic than in the “real” world, but user behavior is forcing the shift. Every bit of research undertaken on user habits clearly shows a reduction in the use of traditional media and an increase in the use of the Internet. In one survey of the “born digital” generation (that’s 12- to 18-year-olds), 87% said they consider the Web to be their primary source of information. These are the customers of tomorrow.

Does it follow that if content is going digital, then a product such as the Kindle, which makes this content portable, will likely be a great success?

My feeling is that portable reading devices will eventually become the norm, but it certainly won’t happen overnight, for several reasons. First and foremost, there is fundamentally nothing wrong with the paper book. People like books. They are used to them. Books don’t crash. They can be shared. I think the baby boomer generation will take a lot of convincing to move to electronic books. The advantages are negligible for the average casual reader.

Second is the cost. The Kindle is being launched at $399, plus $9.99 for each book. That is a lot of paperbacks for little advantage. In addition, Amazon has decided to charge for a lot of information that is free on the Web, such as newspapers and blogs. Had they provided this information for free and just charged for books, they might have attracted the Web generation. As it is, early adopters will download the blogs and newspapers onto their smartphones and stick with paper books.

“So as a Content Creator, Should I Ignore the Kindle?”

No! While I don’t think there is anything that you need to do immediately, you should proactively monitor how Kindle and similar products do. Portable reading devices will come of age and be an important means of distributing content. In the meantime, I can see several trends that could encourage their uptake and that could become near-term opportunities for the specialist information publisher:

- Business books – I think that ebook readers could be adopted by companies to distribute business books, reports, industry magazines and blogs.

- Schools and colleges – I believe there is a huge opportunity for schools and colleges to utilize these devices to provide a much greater variety of books and information for their students. It is common for teachers and professors to have their students read just a single chapter of a textbook, but this can be impractical in the physical world. Ebook readers could be the answer.

- Books without publishers – More and more books are being written and published without publishers. Many of them are available only in digital format to minimize costs for authors. If this trend continues, which I think it will, then ebook readers could become important devices.

- Value-added books – One trend that could happen is books becoming enhanced by third-party comments. For example, Tony Blair could add notes to Bill Clinton’s autobiography, giving his perspective on events. In a digital content world, annotating and distributing the enhanced version would be easy to do.

- Free books – There are thousands of books out of copyright. If these books became available for free to people with ebook readers, it could create demand.

- Green pressure – Creating books, newspapers and magazines is a very energy-wasting, resource-draining, green-unfriendly process. We chop down trees, transport them to factories, mash them into pulp, move the pulp to other factories to press into sheets, ship the sheets to plants to cover them with ink, then use large machines to cut and bind them, and finally ship them around the world. The ebook reader makes this whole process go away. This could be one of the biggest factors that will make ebook readers successful.

Conclusion

Ebook readers will take off in the future as the technology improves, prices drop and the “born digital” generation becomes the mass market. In the meantime, there will be pockets of opportunity for online content publishers. You will need to keep an eye on developments and be creative to generate revenues from this opportunity.
